One of the simplest things I do before training piglets has nothing to do with treats.

Before the treats come out, I let them investigate my hand.

Why? 🐷

Because I want them to learn that my hand is safe— and not food! 😁

When piglets are excited, it's easy for them to become focused on the reward and forget about the relationship. Taking a moment to let them sniff, touch, and explore helps create clarity and sets them up for success before the treats ever come out.

Small moments like these are part of building trust, communication, and confidence.

Training isn't just about teaching behaviors.

It's about helping your pig learn that you're someone safe to learn from. 💛
